Tatkal gas scheme introduced
The tatkal LPG connection has been introduced all over the country from Tuesday through the Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation. A consumer will have to pay Rs 4000 extra for a transferable tatkal connection in addition to the security deposit of Rs 900 for a single cylinder or Rs 1,800 for two cylinders, besides Rs 100 for a regulator.Suggestions
The District Industries Centre and the Single Window Industrial Follow-up Team (SWIFT) have invited suggestions from industries on issues pertaining to industrial land, electricity connections and subsidies, which may be discussed in their next meeting. The suggestions can be sent to General Manager, Centre, Narmada Bhavan by November 5.
IT offices
Income-Tax offices in all stations of Gujarat will remain open on October 31 from 11 am to 5 pm to receive returns and other urgent tax-related documents.
Padra works
The District Planning Committee has earmarked 10 developmental works worth Rs 3.5 lakh for some villages in Padra taluka. An official release said repairs and laying down of water supply pipes would be undertaken in the areas of Raghu, Ganpatpura, Motinagar, Chokari, Sutharipura, Pipli, Gametha, Sadra, Somjipura, Rajpur and Dabka villages as soon as the necessary arrangements were made.
Plea on GEDA
A delegation of the Gujarat Energy Development Authority employees has urged Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel to defer the decision to transfer the GEDA head office to Gandhinagar. In a memorandum submitted to Resident Deputy Collector C R Kharsan on Wednesday, the employees threatened to boycott the inauguration of their new building on November 2.
