Youth ends life in city
An unidentified youth, aged between 25 and 30, was found hanging from a tree near the entrance of the New Civil Hospital on Thursday morning, the Umra police said. The police have taken the body into custody and have sent it to the hospital for autopsy. A case under CrPC 174 has been registered and is being investigated.

One killed
A man was killed on the spot on the Surat-Bardoli Road, when the truck (MH 12 FA 9171) he was driving was hit by a speeding tempo on Wednesday night, the district police said. Safil Sabirsada, the truck-cleaner, lodged a complaint in the Palsana police station saying that the driver of the tempo (DLI 7135) rammed the vehicle into the truck and fled the scene, leaving the behind the vehicle. The Palsana police have registered a case under sections of the IPC and MVA and are investigating.

Body recovered
The Varachha police on Thursday morning, recovered the body of an unidentified 30-year-old woman from a garbage container in Dahya Park area of Varachha. Although the body did not bear visible injury marks, the Varachha police suspect that the body might have been dumped there during the night hours. The body has been sent to the New Civil Hospital for a scientific examination and interrogations are on. The post mortem report, which will indicate the cause of death is still awaited, the Varachha police said. A case under CrPC 174 has been registered.

Electrocuted
One Rajesh Patel, (45), a resident of Moti Ved village on the outskirts of the city, died on the spot after receiving an electric current on Tuesday evening, the Katargam police said.
