According to the Bardoli police, one Ashok Sonawane, kicked his wife, Sitabai, after he came to know that she walked from Orgaam to Wadhwaniya during night hours.

According to a complaint lodged by Waman Pawar, a resident of the same village and a relative of the deceased, after the deceased reached her house at about 4 in the morning on Thursday, the accused started fighting with her, accusing her of infidelity. He then kicked her due to which the victim suffered severe internal injuries and died within minutes in the farm outside their house. The Palsana police have registered a case of murder under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code and are investigating.
