Olympians for Running Festival

NEW DELHI, October 29: Harbinder Singh, Ajitpal Singh, Mohinder Pal Singh and Vineet Kumar are some of the famous names in hockey who will join former and current Indian athletes and swimmers in the Samsung Running Festival on November 1, to encourage the Indian contingent for the Bangkok Asiad.

About 6,000 participants are expected to take part in the 4km run at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Also participating in the race are Asian Games gold medallists wrestlers Bishambher Singh (1966), Satpal Singh (1982).

Entries will be free till October 20, while all entries on November 1 will be charged a nominal fee of Rs 20, the proceeds for which will be donated to Akshay Prathishtan, an NGO working in the area of disability.
