NEW DELHI, October 29: Powered by a powerful 72 from left-handed Gautam Gambhir and some useful contributions from Neeraj Chawla (58), Rajan Gupta (50 batting) and Varun Kumar (35), Delhi overhauled Haryana's first innings total in their North Zone Cooch Behar Trophy league match at Vishwakarma School grounds at Rohtak, according to reports reaching here today.Batting first, Haryana made 248, with Amitabh Dwivedi (55) and Ishan Ganda (50) being the principal scorers. Maninder Bola, making his debut for Haryana, scored 33. Medium pacers Rakesh Raman Jha (4 for 56) and Amit Suman (3 for 55) and left-arm spinner Kundan Mehra (3 for 55) shared the spoils. Delhi had made 255 for five in reply.

Asrani to play for Tripura
Naveen Asrani, a former captain of Delhi Under-19 team, will play for Tripura in Ranji Trophy this season. He is among the six players who will make their debut in the East Zone league match for Tripura against Orissa beginning at Narsinghgarh, near Agartala, on November 4. Asrani, who played for Winsom and Chand Khanna Club in locals tournaments, had also represented Delhi in Under-19 zonal tournaments.
