Power ministry seeks zero import duty on equipment
The Cabinet will meet tomorrow to consider the Ministry of Power's proposal to abolish import duty on equipment for at least eight mega-power projects in the country, as well as exempt them from payment of Corporate Tax.

CCFI to take up Rs 2000 cr FDI plans
The Cabinet Committee on Foreign Investment (CCFI) is likely to take up eight foreign investment proposals amounting to about Rs 2,000 crore at its meeting tomorrow. Majority of the proposals slated for the meeting are from telecommunication sector and are for amendments in equity structure.

Govt to initiate debate on new global financial system: PM
The government would soon initiate a debate on a conceptual framework for a new global financial system based on the principles of equitable and sustained development. The Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee said the framework for innovative restructuring of the system, was presently being formulated.
