PUNE, Oct 30: Nine persons have been reported missing from various parts of the city in last four days.Perturbed over the large number of missing cases reported in the past months, Police Commissioner K K Kashyap has ordered a through inquiry.
Among the nine persons who have gone missing since October 24 were seven women and two children aged about two years. Seven persons are from Padmavati and Dhankawadi areas falling under the jurisdiction of Sahakarnagar police station while two were from Yerawada.
Jayashri Vinayak alias Jaya Sutar, a 28-year-old housewife residing at Narang Housing Society in Dhankawadi went missing along with her two-year-old daughter Priya on October 24. Jayashri left her house without informing anyone around 8 pm, police said.
Five feet tall, Jayashri is slim and dark complexioned. She has a mole on her right cheek. She was wearing a white saree when seen last, according to the police.
Sheela Bhaskar Shinde, a 40-year-old woman from Gandhinagar in Yerawada, is missing along with her neighbour Surekha Tanaji Khandare (26) from October 24 afternoon.
Fair complexioned and well-built, Sheela was wearing a green saree when she left her residence without informing anybody around 4 pm. Slim-built and fair complexioned, Surekha was wearing a black saree when seen last. While Sheela possessed gold ornaments weighing two tolas and Rs 11,000 in cash, Surekha carried Rs 2,000.
Rekha Premnath Mandalik, a 20-year-old spinster from Ganesh Peth, also went missing on October 24. Rekha had left her residence around 9.30 am for resuming her duty''.
Slim built and dark complexioned, Rekha wore a blue kurta with a salwar of same colour and silver anklets when seen last. She has a scar on her nose, Faraskhana police said.
On October 25, Megha Hanumant Mane, a housewife from Rahatani village, left her residence around 5 pm and did not return. Megha, who is of medium built is fair complexioned, Chatuhshrungi police said.
Savita Prakash Divte (30) of Padmavati went missing with her two-year-old son Rajesh on October 27. Medium built and fair complexioned, Savita was wearing a red saree and green blouse when she left her house Padmavati police said.
Reshma Hemant Sanap (18) of Padmavati also went missing on the same day. Five feet and three inch tall, Reshma is fair complexioned. She has a scar on her left palm. She was wearing a saffron kurta and a salwar of same colour when seen last, Sahakarnagar police said.
