IMF warns India on growth without sprucing up financial system
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has cautioned India against committing to a higher growth path without putting in place a "proper and robust" financial system. IMF which had forecast a slower 4.8% economic growth rate this fiscal year, said no government should commit to a higher growth without improving its financial system.

PM may unveil ISP policy today
Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee is expected to announce the Internet Service Providers (ISP) Policy at the inauguration of IT.Com exhibition in Bangalore on Sunday. The policy has been hanging fire for a long time and most of the recommendations suggested by the prime minister's IT task force have already been incorporated in the final draft of the policy.

Unions, IBA talks on wage pact inconclusive
Wage negotiations held today between the five bank unions of the country and Indian Bank Association (IBA) proved inconclusive, as the unions rejected IBA's suggestion of classifying banks on the basis of their profitability in wage revision.
