Lara's theme outwits listless India
Having weathered the Australians in the quater-finals, India finally went down miserably to the West Indies in the second semi-final of the Wills ICC international Cup at Dhaka. West Indies won by six wickets scoring 245 runs in 47 overs in reply to India's 242 in 50 overs. West Indies now take on South Africa in today's final.

Anand goes Dutch
India's Viswanathan Anand was held by Dutchman Loek van Wely in the seventh round of the Fontys International Super Grandmasters chess tournament on Friday but continued to lead the 12-man field with five points. Peter Leko (Hungary), Mathew Sadler (England) and Vadim Zviaginsev (Russia) are joint-second with four points each.

South Koreans shock Pakistan
Asian hockey champions South Korea outpaced Pakistan 4-3 in an exciting match of the Champions Trophy on Saturday. In another match, Australia, the Commonwealth champions stunned holders Germany 2-0.
