According to information, the incident occurred at around 12.30 pm on Sunday at house no 302, Siddhivinayak Apartments on Ashwini Kumar Road. The victim, Daksha Harish Gajera, was cooking in her house when the stove exploded, setting her clothes on fire. When her husband, Harish, and mother-in-law, Lilaben, tried to save the victim they received burn injuries.

While Daksha was declared dead on admission to the Maskati hospital, the other two are being treated for burns and are out of danger, the police stated. Kapodara PSI C D parmar, investigating the case said that Daksha was married for the past fifteen months. A case under CrPC 174 has been registered at the police station.
