CHANDIGARH, Nov 1: For the the third time in a single week, a policeman is alleged to have been involved in a crime in the City.A constable of the Punjab Armed Police was reportedly found stealing parts of an official vehicle outside the Punjab Civil Secretariat, last evening.
The policeman, Harpal Singh, a resident of village Majatarhi in Roopnagar district, was "caught red handed when he was stealing fog lights of a police Gypsy," police sources said.
The City police have arrested the policeman and registered a case on the basis of a complaint lodged by Inspector Kundan Singh of the ITBP, who had spotted him, police sources added.
It may be recalled that on Thursday, a team of the Panipat Police had arrested two constables of the Chandigarh Police on charges of kidnapping for ransom. On Sunday last, another constable astride a police control room vehicle had reportedly snatched a handbag from a woman in Sector 34.
