Bambi shines for Manav Sthali
Saurav Bambi's all-round performance (81 and 6-38) and skipper Amit Bansal's unbeaten 81 helped Manav Sthali beat Gyan Bharati by five wickets in their two-day match to enter the semifinal of Bon Ton inter-school tournament.Brief Scores: Gyan Bharati: 144 (Rajat Khanna 41, Saurav Bambi 6 for 38, Saurav Jindal 2 for 35) and 205 for 7 (Angad Bedi 45, Utkarsh 25, Saurav Jindal 3 for 28).
Manav Sthali: 192 (Saurav Bambi 81, Sanyam 43, Manav Sharma 4 for 21, Manav Madan 2 for 21, Angad Bedi 2 for 36) and 158 for 5 (Amit Bansal 81 not out, Angad Bedi 2 for 29).
Title for LIC
Life Corporation of India beat Air Force Sports Control Board 15-11, 15-9, 11-15, 15-7 to lift the men's title in the Delhi volleyball championships at Naharpur. Arun Sharma, Sudhir Bishamber and Gagan Sagar played well for the winners.
The women's final was won by Jaunti Club who beat JDM Club 15-6, 15-7, 12-15, 15-2. Shelly Chadha, Manpreet and Sangeeta played well for the winners while Chander Kiran and Jaya Vohra did creditably well for the losers.
Ramesh in lead
Ramesh Prasad of UPSC remained the sole leader at the end of the fifth round, with five points, in inter-ministry chess tournament. Nassir Wajih, VP Sharma (both Rly) and Santosh Kumar (Communication) were closely behind the leader with 4.5 points each.
Hill Grove in final
Hill Grove Public School, Safdurjang Enclave, entered the final of Deep memorial inter-school volleyball tournament beating Vivekanand School (Anand Vihar) 15-9, 15-6. Pramod Gautam, Ravinder Singh, Kapil, Varun and Davneet played well for the winners.
Young Delhi win
Young Delhi, helped by Bhupesh Dhanwaria (60: 5x4, 3x6) and Devdutt Jagrat (59: 5x4, 3x6) beat Pioneer Club by three wickets in a B division match of DDCA league at Kotla 2.

Carmel Convent and Vivekanand entered the girls semifinals in the CBSE inter-school basketball tournament being held at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vasant Vihar. Carmel Convent beat Mother's International 35-22 while Vivekanand defeated Chinmaya 31-25.
Vishal excels
Frank Anthony Public School beat S S Khalsa by seven wickets in the inter-school zonal tournament at S S Khalsa School ground. Vishal Raina of Frank Anthony who hit an unbeaten 50 was named the man of the match.
