MUMBAI, Nov 4: Lucky loser Manoj Kumar Seva proved unlucky for Vikrant Sane in the boys' under-14 first round of the JS Perreira Memorial National Ranking tennis tournament at the Bandra Gymkhana courts here.Sane, seeded second, squandered a one set advantage to lose to his unfancied challenger from West Bengal in a three-set battle which was carried over from yesterday.
Losing the first set at 4-6, Seva swept the next two sets 6-1, 6-3 for a second round berth.
Sixth seed Anand Sitaram and eighth seed C S Mohanti were toppled in the second round for boys' under-16. Anand lost to Shivang Mishra 6-3, 6-2 while Alok Bhide scored a 0-6, 6-4, 6-3 win over Mohanti.
