VADODARA, Nov 4: Pastor Matthew Cherian of the Alpha Missionary Movement, whose delegates were allegedly assaulted by activists of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bajrang Dal in the night of October 29, said on Wednesday that he and his wife would meet Governor Anshuman Singh on Thursday.Cherian said that though he had already sent described the incidents in a letter to the governor, he thought it necessary to apprise him personally about what happened that eventful night.
Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police Kuldip Sharma reiterated that they would act sternly against those guilty of assaulting the members of the minority community. ````They (the culprits) are certainly going to be apprehended. It is only a matter of identification'', he said.
When it was pointed out that some people had voluntarily owned up to assaulting convention delegates in the local media, he retorted, ``We cannot initiate suo motu action on this basis".
