BMFC take on Sporting

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA
CALCUTTA, Nov 8: Mohammedan Sporting, handicapped by injuries to several key players, have their tasks cut out when they clash with Bengal-Mumbai Football Club in the inaugural match of the 104th IFA Shield football tournament at the Salt Lake Stadium here tomorrow.

The local team would be hoping to capitalise on home condition to start their campaign on a winning note after a disappointing run in recent times.

Bengal-Mumbai club, who emerged champions in the Mumbai League, start the match as favourites but Sporting are capable of springing a surprise on any team on their day.

The Mumbai team would miss the services of Sheik Sanjeeb and James Singh who have been called for the Asian Games preparatory camp. Mohammedan Sporting will depend on their two Kenyan strikers Moses Ohira and Casius Owino to deliver the goods.
