MUMBAI, NOV 8: Nilesh Saldanha's dream run finally came to an end as he lost to second seed Ravi Bhaya in the men's singles final of the JS Pereira State Ranking Tennis Tournament at the Bandra Gymkhana here today.Saldanha who was making a comeback after a long lay-off due to an injury to His right wrist failed to conjure up the magic he showed on previous two matches here when he rallied from a set down to upset his formidable opponents.
After Bhaya had taken the first set at 6-4, the first four games of the second set saw both players managing to break each others serve and then holding it for the next three games.
Later at 5-4, the experienced Bhaya managed to break Saldanha to seal the match with a set score of 6-4 to take the coveted trophy from the hands of cine actress Tabu who was the chief guest.
In the women's singles final, Mumbai's Sonal Phadke after losing the first set at 5-7 staged a dramatic comeback in the second set with an identical score against Sonia Shelar, surviving four matchpoints.
In the third set an exhausted Sonia, after losing the first game and down 0-40 conceded the match.
Second seed Akshay Chelappa upset favourite Keshav Narsimhan in the boys u-12 final. An otherwise dominant Lizenka Pereira had a tough time in overcoming Nidhi Shah 7-5, 6-4 to clinch the girls u-12 title.

Men: 2-Ravi Bhaya bt Nilesh Saldanha 6-4, 6-4.
U-12: 2-Akshay Chelappa bt 1-Keshav Narsimhan 6-2, 6-1.
Women: Sonal Phadke bt Sonia Shelar 5-7, 7-5, 1-0 (match conceded)
U-12: Lizenka Pereira bt Nidhi Shah 7-5, 6-4.
