MUMBAI, NOV 8: For Sandeep Mohite, Dilip Bhosale and Ravindra Shinde and few of their farmer friends from Yewla, pomfret is preferable to Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray's speech. The group of farmers who visited Mumbai to see the Agro-Food 98 exhibition at Goregaon skipped Thackeray's speech and used the time to buy fresh fish from Agar Bazaar at Prabhadevi. When asked, Mohite said, ``We have been hearing Thackeray's speech for years together. We'll get to read it in tomorrow's newspaper also. But we could not have missed the opportunity to buy fresh fish,'' he said.
Yet another group from Parbhani did not even bother to visit the exhibition or to listen to Thackeray's speech. One of them said, ``We came here to see Mumbai. We have been to the Gateway of India, the Girgaum-Chowpatty and the Dadar-Chowpatty. As half the tariff for travelling was paid by the State Government, we decided to make a picnic to Mumbai.''
However, Vishnu Ture from Aurangabad who produces cotton was delighted at the exhibitionand was all the more happy after Thackeray's speech.
