CHANDIGARH, Nov 8: The UT State Legal Services Authority would organise a legal aid camp from 3 p.m to 5 p.m in the district courts in Sector 17 tomorrow to celebrate the Legal Services Day.The camp is being organised to help sensitise the public about the existence of the permanent lok adalat in the City, said chairman of UT State Legal Services Authority Justice N.K. Sodhi. He added that the lok adalat would provide an additional forum to the litigants for conciliatory solution to their disputes even at the pre-litigative stage.
The permanent lok adalat, headed by S.K. Sardana, member secretary of the Authority, is taking up cases of compoundable criminal matters, matrimonial disputes, rent matters, recovery suits, challan matters under Motor Vehicles Act etc.
