EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
LUDHIANA, Nov 8: A punjab dairy development board is being established as a nodel agency for milk production in the state and to achieve a quantum jump, Chief Minister of Punjab Parkash Singh disclosed while inaugurating the 5th International Veterinary Immunology Symposium at Punjab Agricultural University. The Chief Minister announced that Punjab would soon become animal disease free-zone and the goal was to make it the biggest foreign exchange earner through export of livestock. He said, no doubt, Punjab had the highest per capita availability of milk and had animals with highest genetic potential in the country, yet there was a wide gap in the average yield of our animals as compared to the animals of the dairy-advanced countries.
