Additional Station House officer of the Dabri Police Station Ombir Singh told Express Newsline: ``The two come from families with an economically weak background. As their parents could not get them married in the traditional way, with the usual pomp and show, the couple had a court marriage a few months ago''.

Radhey had apparently taken a room on rent as they did not want to live with his parents who live in the same locality. Singh said, ``The investigating officer of the case is still at Safdarjung Hospital. Soni is unfit for statement. The SDM will be visiting her tonight. A neighbour apparently informed the police control room of the incident this evening. The PCR staff rushed the couple to the hospital.
