Indian eves for England

LONDON: Indian women are to tour England next summer and will play three One-day internationals and one Test, it was announced today.England have not played against India since 1995 when they visited the sub-continent, losing the One-day series 3-2 but winning the three-game Test series 1-0.

Dates and venues for the 1999 tour have not been confirmed but India are set to arrive in mid-June with the series beginning in July.

Mehta lead

NEW DELHI: Delhi's Dr Ashwani Mehta (184 Victory Points) in Group B and ITC (179 VP) in Group A lead their respective groups after nine rounds of Swiss League in the Ruia Gold Cup Four Square 40th National Bridge championships at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium.

Dr Ashwani Mehta humbled Calcutta's SP Bhattacharya's IV 25-4, thrashed S Kantha's IV 25-0 and Best BBSS, Sodepore 23-7.
