EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, Nov 9: The Delhi Police have booked Group President of Reliance Industries V Balasubramanian on charges of possessing top secret documents of the Government.A case under the Official Secrets Act was registered against him on November 6 and today, it was transferred to the Crime Branch. However, Balasubramanian's lawyer Madhukar Goyal issued a statement saying that ``the matter is under investigation. My client would like to clarify that no such papers were found during searches conducted at his residence or office.'' DCP (Crime) Karnal Singh, however, said he was yet to receive ``official'' order to take over investigations in this case. Police said the FIR was registered following ``recovery'' of some Cabinet documents from his office premises. Copyright © 1998 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
