Man killed in mishap
An unidentified rider of a Hero Puch moped was killed on the spot, after he was knocked down by a vehicle on Sunday night, the Olpad police of the district said. According to the police, they found a 35-year-old man in a pool of blood on the outskirts of Vasravi village in Olpad. The police have registered a case under sections of the IPC as well as the MVA and are on look out for the accused.Suicide
A 50-year-old woman, residing in Moti Libwala village of Mangrol taluka in the district committed suicide by hanging herself in her house, the district rural control room said. According to the Mangrol police, Kheruben Vasava had been ill for the past fortnight and had lost her mental balance. She committed suicide when no one was present in the house, the police said, adding that a case under CrPC 174 has been registered.
House-breaking
A case of house-breaking was registered by the Kapodara police after a person complained that unidentified people had broken into his house and had decamped with goods worth Rs 17,000. According to the complainant, Arvind Hadiya, residing at Nandanvan Society, Puna, thieves stole a colour television set, remote device and a stabilizer from his house. A case under IPC 457 and 380 has been registered.
