Sonia turns polls into a duel with Vajpayee
Quite smoothly, Congress president Sonia Gandhi has turned the November 25 polls to four states into a referendum on the BJP-led Union Government's performance, a plank the BJP has gone defensive with saying the elections are anything but a vote on the Centre.
Sir Creek talks fail, Pak for arbitration
On day three of the Indo-Pak composite dialogue, Pakistan once again forgot the Shimla Agreement and declared that it could press for "arbitration" over resolving the Sir Creek boundary dispute. India would continue to abide by the 1972 agreement which calls for bilateral negotiations to resolving disputes.
Lahore bus: Sharif steps on gas
In a move to dispel any impression that Islamabad is dragging its feet over the proposed Delhi-Lahore bus service, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has summoned Pak officials-currently engaged in talks in Delhi-back home to take immediate action.
