NEW DELHI, Nov 11: A city court today sent Romesh Sharma, the alleged frontman of Dubai-based underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, to 10-day judicial custody in connection with two cases recently handed over to CBI.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) R J Gauba remanded Sharma and co-accused A K Bali to judicial custody till November 21 after they were produced before him. One of the two cases transferred to CBI from the Delhi police crime branch relates to the helicopter deal with Mumbai-based Pushpak Aviation Private Limited. Sharma had hired the helicopter for electioneering during 1996 Lok Sabha polls which he contested as an independent candidate from Phulpur constituency.
