CHANDIGARH, Nov 11: The arrest of executive engineer Amarjit Singh in the Sector 32 Government Medical College and Hospital work allocation case was further stayed till November 12 by UT District and Sessions Judge B.S. Bedi here today.The petitioner -- accused of causing heavy loss to the Administration -- was earlier booked by the UT Vigilance Department under Sections 406, 409, 467, 471 and 120-B of the Indian Penal Code, besides the Prevention of Corruption Act on contractor Vinod Bhagai's complaint.
According to the prosecution, Bhagai, on April 4, had alleged irregularities in the allocation of aluminium glazing work of GMCH's block C and D.Seeking pre-arrest bail for the petitioner, the defence counsel stated that Amarjit Singh was being implicated in the case.The counsel also stated that the petitioner was suffering from diabetes.
