Rajan, Vikram shine

CHANDIGARH, Nov 11: Manoj Rajan (53 n.o.) and Vikram Minhas (40 and 4 for 22) led their respective teams, Panjab University Campus and DAV College, to easy wins over respective sides in the colleges Kapil Dev Trophy here today.

PU Campus beat Government College, Sector 46 by 108 runs while DAV College beat Government College, Sector 11 by 83 runs in the other match.

PU Campus: 202 for 3 (Manoj Rajan 53 n.o., Gautam Sharma 41, T D Singh 39, Amit Dehra 25 n.o.; Raj Kumar 2-10) beat GC-46: 94 (Kuldeep 49; Amit Dehra 3-18, Nitin Gupta 2-12).
DAV College: 181 (Vikram Minhas 40, Vishal Gupta 27, Vinod Thakur 27; Mukteshwar 2-24, Sharad 2-37) beat GC-11: 98 (Sunil 19, Vinay Vats 19; Vikram Minhas 4-22, Rajinder Chaudhary 2-18).

UT golf team
A three-member Chandigarh team will take part in the IGU categorised South India Junior and Sub-Junior Golf Championship to be held in Bangalore from November 17 to 20, according to G S Kochhar, chairman Media Committee of Chandigarh Golf Club.

Prince Dhillon of St John's School is the youngest member of the team. Sandy Lehal and Saahir Singh are the other members. Dr SS Dhillon will accompany the team as manager-cum-coach.

Mahesh as manager
Mahesh Sekhri, secretary, Chandigarh Carrom Association would accompany the Indian team as a manager in the second SAARC carrom championship to be held at Male (Maldives) from November 22.

Kho-kho trials
Trials to select the Chandigarh junior boys and girls team for Junior National kho-kho meet to be held on December 6 to 10 at Nasik would be held on November 14 at 2.30 p.m., at Sector 42 Sports Complex.

Boys below 18 years and girls under-16 are eligible to take part in the trials.
