MCD says no dengue outbreak
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, November 11: The MCD has denied reports of a dengue breakout in the Capital. MCD Commissioner V K Duggal said on Wednesday that though the rains had led to an increase in the incidence of dengue cases, however, they were sporadic and unlikely to assume epidemic form. ``The MCD is not aware of a single case where it has been conclusively brought on record that anybody died of dengue due to contracting the disease in Delhi,'' he said in a statement.A municipal health officer said there is one death reported of a dengue patient who was brought unconscious from Bihar to Delhi for specialised treatment. Referring to dengue cases in newspaper reports, an MCD release said that some of them were never tested for dengue, one had died of septicimia and in some cases the results of tests were awaited.
