Case of murder
The Katargam police have registered a case of murder against unidentified persons after recovering the dead body of a youth on Thursday morning. The body bore more than half a dozen stab wounds in the face, neck, chest and stomach and was found from the bank of the Tapi. According to the police, the person had been murdered elsewhere and his body thrown at the bank. The police said the body had been sent for autopsy at the New Civil hospital, and a case under IPC 302 registered.

Cash stolen
Cash Rs 40,000, ornaments and other goods were stolen by unidentified persons in separate cases of housebreaking by night registered in police stations of the city on Thursday. Jaffer Abdul Ali, the owner of a showroom located at Parle Point, in a complaint with the Umra police claimed that some people broke his showroom's shutter during the early hours of Thursday and decamped with goods and cash worth Rs 18,000. In the second case registered at the Kapodara police station, Chhagan Mewada, a resident of Dharmendra Complex, complained to the police that his camera, two gold chains, cash, and a gold ring, worth Rs 14,000 were stolen from his house.

Vehicle stolen
A Hero Honda motorcycle (GJ 5 RR 9612) of one Ajay Jain was stolen from the parking of J J market on Ring Road, according to a case registered in the Salabatpura police station on Thursday. Jain told the police that he had parked the vehicle and returned to find it missing. A case under IPC 379 has been registered.
