NEW DELHI, November 12: Powered by opener Sarabjeet Singh's 84, Services defeated Himachal Pradesh by 37 runs in North Zone Ranji Trophy one-dayer at Harbaksh Stadium here today. Put into bat, Services made 165 in 46.4 overs. The visitors were skittled out for 128 in 40 overs.Speedster M V Rao led the Services in the absence of Chinmaya Sharma, who withdrew with a stiff neck. Sarabjeet's knock contained five boundaries and was the only saving grace for them.
Only three other batsmen -- Sanjay Verma (13), Amit Nadkarni (12) and Dinesh Chauhan (11) could cross double figures. Praveen Sharma and veteran Jaswant Rai claimed three wickets each for the visitors. Jaswant Rai (19) and Rahul Panta (19 not out) were Himachal's main run-getters.
For Services, Sanjeev Mishra took three wickets for 26 and Pankaj Maitery chipped in with two for 32. This was Services' second win, having earlier beaten Jammu and Kashmir.
