NEW DELHI, November 12: The indefinite strike called by resident doctors of Bara Hindu Rao hospital on Tuesday night was called off on Thursday morning. The strike was called after doctors accused the relatives of a two-and-a-half-year-old patient, Shubham, of attacking the doctor on duty, after the patient died.
Shubham's father, B.D.Gupta, had filed a complaint in the police station saying the doctor's negligence caused the death of the child and denied any manhandling.
The hospital administration has accepted the demand of the doctors to set up a panel of resident doctors, nurses, senior doctors and employees to study the security needs of the hospital staff. The panel is to submit a report in one week and implement its suggestion in another week.
