MUMBAI, November 13: The Anti-Corruption Branch of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has seized documents pertaining to investments worth Rs 11 lakh and Rs 80,000 in cash during searches on the residential and office premises of an assistant executive engineer (civil) of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) at Sahar.The searches followed a case filed against the engineer charging him of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. Bank balance, shares, UTI investments and National Savings Certificates of over Rs 11 lakh were found. Of these, documents concerning investments of Rs 10.5 lakh were seized from his office, the investigating agency said in a press release. The accused owned two flats and a shop and had also declared a sum of Rs 2.99 lakh under VDIS last December, added the CBI. Copyright © 1998 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
