Graf wins in Philadelphia
Hours after learning she had a spot in the season-ending Chase Championships, Steffi Graf needed three sets to get past Russia's Elena Likhovtseva at the $450,000 Advanta Championships Indoor Tennis event. Graf struggled early but pulled out a 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 6-4 victory.

Drug dispute dogs Susanthika
Top Sri Lankan sprinter Susanthika Jayasinghe is at the centre of an Asian Games drug dispute after a Chinese athletics official claimed she was still banned and could not compete at the event. Jayasinghe, who won the silver medal in the women's 200m at last year's World Championships but also been at the centre of drug accusations, said she knew nothing of the latest threat to her career.
