GNDU overall champions

NEW DELHI, November 17: Guru Nanak Dev University from Amritsar won the overall championship with a tally of 14 points in the All India Inter-University Wrestling Championships which were held at the MD University in Rohtak, during November 8-12.

Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut finished second with 12 points while hosts MD University came third with a tally of 10 points.

Results: 63 kg: 1.Antony (Rajasthan) 2.Ramesh Chand (Kurukshetra) 3.Sanjeev Malik (Sukhadia University, Udaipur).

64 kg: 1.Dharamvir Singh (Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut) 2.Anil Kumar (Nagpur University) 3.Ratan lal (R V V Udaipur).

68 kg: 1.Bhupinder Thakur (GNDU) 2.Anil Kumar (Nagar University) 3.Kalu das (Kurukshetra).

69 kg: 1.Raj Kumar Patil (DAV Indore) 2.Ramesh Kumar (Nagpur) 3.Jaideep Singh (MDU).

76 kg: 1.Jung Bahadur (Panjab University, Chandigarh) 2.Kukhraj (GNDU) 3.Sugere (MDU).

85 kg: 1.Sajjan Pal (MDU) 2.Sukhvinder Singh (GNDU) 3.Sanjeev Kumar (Chaudhary Charan Singh University Meerut).

97 kg: 1.Rajan Tomar (CCS Meerut) 2.Amandeep (GNDU) 3.Ravindra (Kurukshetra).

97 plus kg: 1.Ashish Shokeen (Motilal Nehru College, DU) 2.Udvir Singh (MDU) 3.Satpal (CCS Meerut).

DUTT CHAMPS: Delhi University table tennis team, represented by Gagandeep Singh Mehta, Rajiv Ghai, Sumit Juneja, Gaurav E and Sanjay Khurana, beat Chandigarh 3-0 to win the men's team title in North Zone inter-varsity championships held at Gurukul Kangri.

Hindu triumph

Hindu College outwitted SRCC 87-55 in the inter-college basketball tournament at PGDAV College ground. Dhiraj (32) and Samarth (22) were the top scorers for the winners while Amit Kapur (18) and Siddhant (18) contributed for the losers.

In another match, St Stephen's College thrashed Kirori Mal College 77-45. Akshi (18), Johan Chandi (14) scored for St Stephen's while Pardeep Duggal (10) and Shweank (12) scored for KMC.

Cross country

The second Nike-St Stephen's 3.2 km cross country race will be held on November 19 from the Rudra Gate of the college. The race is open for all bonafide students of Delhi University.
