UNITED NEWS OF INDIA
BARIPADA, NOV 18: A leopard that wandered into a tribal village in Orissa's Mayurbhanj district looking for something to eat itself ended up in the cooking pot.

Inhabitants of Khandabundha village had cornered the feline in a cow shed and killed it with bows and arrows. They then cooked and shared the meat for dinner.

The incident took place on Thursday last, a delayed report said. Three villagers have been arrested in this connection. Earlier, the leopard had injured two boys when they tried to prevent it from lifting fowls from a yard.

On getting the information, forest officials of Keonjhar division reached the spot and seized some leftover meat and the leopard skin.

Such incidents are on the rise in the area due to the increasing population of the big cat, sources said.
