VADODARA, Nov 18: Principals of several Vadodara-based Christian educational institutions met at the Rosary School on Wednesday evening and unanimously decided to take out a rally on December 4 against the atrocities on Christians in various parts of the country.Rosary School principal Fr O Coutinho told Express Newslines that all Christian schools would remain closed on that day and students and their parents would be informed about the reasons for the closure of the institutions.
Officials of the Department of Education would also be informed of the reasons for closure of schools and police cover would be sought for the rally, he said.
He said it was also decided at the meeting to make students aware, through talks and lectures, of the recent attacks on Christians. ``It is not only a question of an assault on Christians but the more serious question of a breakdown of law and order affecting society at large'', he stated.
The meeting had decided, Fr Coutinho said, to seek the cooperation of parents of students in preventing occurrence of such incidents in future.
He said leaders of Christian institutions and Churches would meet on Thursday evening at Rosary School to chalk out plans for handing over a memorandum and holding dharnas and to decide on the route of the rally.
