MUMBAI, NOV 19: Def Leppard, the British group that has come down to perform at the Channel [V] awards had a live performance for a select group today.
At a press conference preceding the show, Rick Savage had the gathering in splits when he fielded off questions:
Q: We hear your next album is a mixture of Hysteria and Pyromania. What's it called ?
A: Pyrosteria!
Q: Performance in India?
A: Next March.
Asha Bhonsle gave a warm welcoming address - in Hindi - and later made a request that the band members be told what she said. She was asked if she planned to sing with the band a song called Pyaar Ne Kaata - Love Bites.
When a fan asked a long-drawn question, Rick Savage was thrilled, ``You are excited! We could do with more people like you. We should take you to England and...and clone you!''
Our music, they said, is all about entertainment and that's why we will survive, have survived.
Making a dig at boy-bands, Savage said, ``They will just burn out.'' Oncompetition with the Spice Girls he said, ``We are the current Spice Boys.''
The five-member rock band, formed in 1980, comprises Joe Elliot as lead vocalist, Phil Collen (lead guitarist), Rick Allen (drums), Rick Savage (bass guitarist), and Vivian Campbell (guitarist).
