PUNE, Nov: Equipped with at least four cellular phones and two vehicles, the members of Irfan Goga gang followed Sagar Ladkat for 34 days before they killed him on May 22, revealed Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ramrao Pawar today.While addressing a press conference, Pawar said, the Goga gang members who hail from Bihar were provided accommodation at the Manish Park building on NIBM road and a car by a 35-year-old estate agent-cum-automobile dealer from Nana Peth area.
The dealer, Mushtaq Khan Ayub Khan , was arrested by the crime branch sleuths yesterday. The identification parade Goga gang was carried out at Yerawada prison. Some of the gangsters were Atik-Ur-Rehman Ansari, Javed Ahmed Alam Narul Hasan, Zia-Ur-Rehman Mohammed Moinul Haq alias Dulare Mohammed Shamshad Alam Mohammed Karimulla Shivkumar Baldeo Mandal and Manjoor Alam Jaki-Ur-Rehman were arrested by Bihar police in the last month.
They have been remanded to magisterial custody. Atik-Ur-Rehman Ansari is Darbhanga correspondent of a Patna-based newspaper while Zia-Ur-Rehman who works as a tailor is the secretary of the Moharram committee in Darbhanga. DCP Pawar said the entire plot to abduct and kill Sagar Ladkat was masterminded by Anis Ahmed who is absconding along with three other accused.
According to the police, the Goga members came to Pune sometime in April.
