"I want to recover fast"

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, Nov 22: Vinod kambli spent the longest duration on a cricket field since sustaining the ankle injury eight months ago. But he wasted little time in making an impact with his dashing strokeplay at the Wankhede Stadium today to serve a strong reminder to his critics that nothing's wrong with him.

An air cast around his right ankle hampers him while sprinting but he is confident of a quick recovery.

``There was a little bit of pain while I was batting,'' he admitted later, ``but I wasn't affected by it as I was deeply involved in the game,'' he added. ``I just want to keep playing from now on and keep recovering fast,'' he remarked on his immediate plans.

``I jogged for a while in the morning and found that I could manage it. The captain (Sachin Tendulkar) and team members gave me all the support too,'' he said of his decision to compete.
