UNITED NEWS OF INDIA
NEW DELHI, NOV 22: Top seed Ritwik Bhattacharya of India justified his ranking as he ended the dream run of unseed Pakistani Mubashir Gul to win the boys title, while Nicol David (Malaysia) clinched the girls title at the first Asian Squash Federation Junior (under-19) Circuit Grand final at the Gymkhana Club courts here today.

Current national junior champion Ritwik dashed Mubashir's giant-killing spree 9-3, 9-10, 9-5, 9-2 in 42 minutes. Asian women's champion, 15-year-old Nicol David took only 29 minutes to overpower no.2 seed Tricia Chanh 9-3, 9-3, 9-7 in all-Malaysia final. Ritwik pocketed $ 250 as the winner's cheque while Nicol received $ 200.

Ritwik, who is ranked 162 in the professional circuit, was stretched to four games by the unseeded 16-year-old Pakistani. He took the first game 9-3 without any resistance, was outclassed in the second, before wrapping up the match.
