CHANDIGARH, Nov 22: Local professional Amandeep Singh Johl and his team comprising amateurs GS Aujla (-18), Major B M Singh (-16) and GS Sandhu (-14) emerged winners in the Pro-Am title in the Hero Golf Chandigarh Open at the 7,202-yard, par-72 Chandigarh Golf Course here today. The amateur team played nett 13-under par to log 131 points. Johl carded four-over par 76 for a grand total of nine-under par 207.Calcutta professional Nabin Mondal (73) and his amateur colleagues H S Kang (-2), Col Harkirat Singh (-18) and K Yoo (-18) finished with a nett score of eight-under 208 for the runners-up position. The amateurs contributed 135.
Professional Jeev Milkha Singh's team consisting of Pawan Kant Munjal (-16), Parnita Garewal (-1) and Dimple Minocha (-13) were second runners-up with a nett six-under 201. While the amateurs contributed 143, Jeev excelled on back nine to return best card of the day, five-under 67.
Johl, Mondal and Jeev received Rs 8,000, Rs 7,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively while the amateurs were awarded silver salvers. IPS Mann, captain of the Chandigarh Golf Club, won the longest (295 yards) drive prize. SPS Matharoo won the closest to the pin (14th hole) award.
