Agartala, Nov 23: The BJP has decided to launch `jail bharo' movement on December 30 as part of its `Tripura bachao agitation' against the ruling Left Front government in the state.The `jail bharo' agitation would be organised in the state capital and in all district and subdivisional headquarters, president of the Tripura unit of the BJP Dr H S Roy Choudhury told newsmen here today.
The state unit of the party, which met at Bishalgarh 30 km from here yesterday, discussed the state's insurgency problem and blamed the ruling Left Front for its `inability to solve the problem.' The Left Front has failed to tackle the issue `because it has political link with the insurgent outfits as it has come to power with their help,'' BJP said in its political resolution.
BJP central leader Bansilal Soni, who attended the state meet as observor, told newsmen he would shortly submit a report to the all India president Kushabhai Thakre supporting the demand of the Tripura unit for imposition of President's rule inTripura.
The state unit has launched a Tripura bachao movement by organising demonstrations, thana gheraos in different parts of the state demanding dismissal of the state government.
