Mumbai judo squad
A 35-member judo team of men and women will represent Mumbai in the 26 Open Maharashtra State Judo Championship to be held in Pune on November 24-26. The competition will be held in men's, women's and junior girls' categories.

Bank badminton
The Bank of Maharashtra Krida & Sanskritik Mandal, Thane will be conductinga Inter-region Badminton tournament to select the Bank's team for Regional and All-India Inter Bank Tournament. The event will be held on Nov 27 & 28 at Mulund Sports Complex.
Verma breaks record
Andheri Swimming Pool's Sandeep Verma won the 6-km sea swimming race held off Naval Sailing Club, Colaba by Western Naval Command. Verma won in record time of one hour, 11 minutes and 24 seconds improving on 1995 mark of 1:24:11 hrs set by Sukhbinder Singh. Mulund Municipal Pool's Mayur Mehta came second followed by Amar Muralidharan.
Ruma Chemburkar, 13, won the women's first prize clocking 1:25:05.
