Chemical thrown on 25-year-old
A 25-year-old youth, resident of Gawasad village under Padra taluka suffered serious burns all over his body when some unidentified persons threw some chemical over him when he was sleeping at 1.30 a.m. last night, the police said. Police have registered a case and the investigation is on.

Three assaulted
Ambalal Ranchodbhai Rajput and two members of his family, all residents of Sama village, who had gone to the District Courts in connection with a litigation over a piece of land, were assaulted by the rivals in the court premises on Monday, the police said. The Raopura police have registered a case against three persons in this connection.

Vehicle lifted
Shirishchandra Gordhandas Kabriwala, a resident of Udaynagar IFFCO Colony in Gandhidham, complained to the Raopura police that his son's Hero Honda motorcycle (GJ-6-EE- 4533) had been stolen from New Medical Hostel on Sunday. Investigations are on.

Shop burgled
Dry fruits including almond and spices worth Rs 11,700 was stolen from a shop `Ujam Masala' located in National Plaza last night. According to JP Road police, thieves entered the shop by removing window grills.

IMFL seized
Indian-made foreign liquor worth Rs. 17,350, which was illegally stored in a house in Gujarat Refinery area on the outskirts of the city, was seized by the police on Monday. Two persons, both residents of Pali district in Rajasthan, were arrested for violation of Prohibition Act, J P Road police said.

PASA detainee
Commissioner of Police Kuldip Sharma has ordered the arrest of notorious criminal Mahesh Gatubhai Kahar, a resident of Bhoiwadar under Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act (PASA). He has been sent to Porbandar district jail.
