NNH, who usually play a fast and aggressive game, were a subdued lot, the fast breaks and drives conspicuously absent. For Wellingdon, Ashraf Ansari and Rafique Shaikh were fluent in their moves, and did the bulk of the scoring.

Earlier, Agradneya Vyayamshala B defeated Indian Gymkhana 33-20 in a junior girls' match. Agradneya chose to field their best players, including youth national Gayatri Manolikar, in the B side as the draw had pitted their A team against Fatima Sports Club, which has been bolstered by the induction of junior international Anita Krishnan. Fatima and Agradneya A are to clash in the semi-final in the top half of the draw.
