CHANDIGARH, Nov 27: A Delhi based shooter -- Rachana Govil hog the limelight on the third day of the Northern India Shooting Championship which is being held at Sector 25 Shooting Range. Rachana took the days honour with an aggregate score of 381/400 in the air pistol (NR) event in the women's group to equal the old meet mark which stands in the name of Shilpi Singh.Since, the second competitor, Reena Rana, wife of ace shooter Jaspal Rana is way behing at second spot with a total of 345, Rachana is likely to win the gold in the event. Seema Tomar is currently lying third with a score of 345.
However, Seema is leading (345) in the junior category in the air pistol (NR) event.
Meanwhile, shooters from Border Security Force (BSF) continued their domination in the centre fire pistol (ISU) event. BSF's Naresh Kuamr is leading with a aggregate total of 283/300. His team-mate Poonam Kumar is four points short at second place while Mahinder Singh also of BSF is third with a score of 277.
BSF shooters are also leading in the standard fire pistol (ISU) in the men's section. Hari Parkash is ahead of the field with a score of 266/300. Both Padam Singh of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Parvinder Singh (BSF) have an identical score of 266. However, Padam shot 44 in his last card to take the second spot while Parvinder Singh returned 43 in his last card and is currently at third place.
Local shooter Pavittar Singh Bajwa led the field in the .22 standard rifle three position with a score of 213/300 in the senior men's group.

Junior women: .22 prone: 1 Nirmal Kaur (Pb) 230/300, 2 Priti Sharma (Chd) 225, 3 Tejinder Kaur (Pb) 206.
Senior men: .22 standard rifle three position (open): 1 Santokh Singh (Pb) 251/300, 2 Mahinder Singh (ITBP) 251. .22 standard rifle three position: 1 Pavittar Singh (Chd) 213/300. .22 rifle three position (civilian): 1 Santokh Singh (Pb) 251/300, 2 Panttar Singh (Chd) 213.
Senior men: Air rifle (ISU) open: 1 Abhinav Bindra (Pb) 571/600, Akhlesh Rai (BSF) 565, 3 Tek Bahadur (BSF) 555.
Senior men: Centre fire pistol (ISU) open: Naresh Kumar (BSF) 283/300, 2 Poonam Kumar (BSF) 279, 3 Mahinder Singh (BSF) 277.
