Bomb hoax at Ahmedabad civil courts

AHMEDABAD, Dec 1: A bomb scare caused by an unsigned handwritten letter stating that the City Civil Court building at Bhadra area in Mirzapur will be blown up on Monday proved a hoax, Karanj police said that the unsigned registered letter first reached the Gujarat High Court officer on special duty L.R. Abichandani on Friday evening, stating that the High Court building would be blown up on November 28. A massive search of the entire building on November 27 revealed nothing. Interestingly the letter also mentioned that court buildings at Bhadra in Mirzapur, in Nadiad and in Surat would also be blown on December 1, 2 and 6 respectively.Copyright © 1998 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
