City gymnasts for London
Anuradha Bhide and Neha Gohad of Muktangan English School have been chosen to represent India in GRASP International Gymnastics tournament to be held at London from December 5-6.Anuradha already has the credit of being a participant in the World Youth Games held at Moscow in July 1998, while Neha had done the honours in the SAARC Gymnastics Internationals at Allahabad in February 1998.
Sports Day for disabled soldiers
The Queen Mary's Technical Institute for Disabled Soldiers (QMTI) will organise a Sports Day for disabled soldiers on occasion of the World Disabled Day on December 3.
A total of 89 soldiers will participate in the event featuring wheel chair race, slow cycling 100m, basketball, volleyball, shot put, discus throw and javelin throw.
The best players will be selected from this meet to participate in the forthcoming Games for Disabled organised by NASEOH at Mumbai.
Taher to lead district V'ball team
Momhamad Taher will captain the Poona district volleyball team that has been announced by the Poona District Volleyball Association for participation in the 30th Maharashtra State Volleyball championship at Beed from December 4.
