Iraq misses deadline on key war document
Iraq failed to meet a United Nations target date to hand over a document singled out by United States President Bill Clinton which could help inspectors fill in gaps in Iraq's chemical weapons programme, a UN spokesman has said.

Sharif meets Clinton; pleads for more aid, intervention in Kashmir
If Pakistan is to pare down its nuclear outlook, the US will have to mediate on Kashmir, restore conventional military aid to Islamabad, and organise greater financial help to rescue it from economic collapse. Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has conveyed these views to President Clinton at a luncheon meeting.

WB warns India on economic slowdown
The World Bank has made a depressing forecast for India, warning that failure to achieve its stipulated growth target of over six per cent for the current year would represent one of the biggest challenges for the country's economy.
