Dive is touring Bangkok, Singapore and Malaysia as a delegate of the Maharashtra Body-building Association, which is participating in the Asian Games at Malaysia. He is also visiting Singapore and Bangkok to observe civic works in those cities.

Before leaving for his juant, Dive had sought permission from the UDD, which recently imposed guidelines to curb unnecessary foreign trips of elected representatives. However, Mantralaya officials, notoriously adept at wrapping ted tape around pending decisions, had not yet waved the green flag for Dive's visit by the November 25 deadline. He therefore proceeded on his visit, with former mayor Vasant Gite in tow, anticipating a nod from the government.
